Epson is a famous brand that manufactures inkjet, laser jet printers of different configurations suitable for both home and office use. Its popularity is due to the reliability and outstanding features that are available at an affordable price. Like any other printers, at times these printers also malfunction due to hardware or software issues. They can either be fixed at home or taken to an authorised service centre. In this article we will be discussing Epson printer troubleshooting.
Listed below are some of the steps to troubleshoot your Epson printer.
Windows: For this keep a paper in the tray and on the PC desktop search for “Control Panel” in the search box on the taskbar. Open it and go to “Devices And Printers”, in the window that appears next right click on the “Epson Printer” and choose “Printing Preference” in the menu. Then, click on the “Maintenance” tab and there click on “Head Cleaning” followed by clicking on “Start”. After that, follow the on-screen instructions.
Mac: Similar to the previous explanation, you begin by placing paper in the tray and then go to Mac OS desktop. Now, click on the “Apple Menu” and go to “System Preferences”. In the list that appears click on “Printer And Scanner” and select your Epson printer from the box on the left hand side, then select “Options & Supplies”. In the window that appears next, click on “Utility” tab and select “Clean Print Heads”. When the utility window opens, click on “Head Cleaning” and follow the instructions.
This can be due to a lack of communication between the printer and the computer, it can happen when it is printing something. To solve it, go to the “Control Panel”, there go to “Devices and Printers”. In the window that comes next, right click on “Epson Printer” and click on “See what’s printing”. Now, in the toolbar click on “Printer” and ensure that the “Use Printer Offline” option is not ticked. If it is, then click on it and disable. Now that you have done it, the offline printer is back online and you can start printing.
If there is an issue with the paper feed your Epson printer will not print, and it can be due to paper stuck in the feed path. Removing it will resolve the issue; for this, first you should cancel the ongoing print job and then turn off the printer. Then, open the cover and gently pull out the jammed paper in the direction of paper feed from the rear paper feed slot.
We hope that the above instructions will help to resolve your Epson printer problem and if it doesn’t it would be ideal to take it to the service centre.
